About Me

Michael John Mally is an artist (period). I create art. Depending on the type of art I’m creating, I’m either very focused or very passionate. That depends on the type of art, the location of where it will be displayed. If it’s a personal piece it’s focused. If it’s anything else it’s brought about out of passion. I love Peter Lik. His La Jolla gallery is beautiful and not far from my house. Looking at other artists gives me inspiration.

Another San Diegan who gives me inspiration is installation sculpture artist Matt Devine. His installations can be see in SD, Colorado and other places. Great artist that you can tell loves his art more than his “job”.

A fun place to be is the Edwards Sculpture Garden. Not as much inspiration for me as I’ve seen it a lot of times. I just love the ambiance, proximity to the ocean and the fun atmosphere.
